Trecco Bay, Sandy Bay, Coney Beach and Rest Bay. If you are seeking a quiet & relaxing atmosphere Rest Bay is the idyllic place, long and golden sands within the picturesque coastline, a little further along the coast is the nature & wildlife reserve of Kenfig Burrows. Rest Bay is also popular with water sports, water skiing, sailing enthusiasts & especially surfers, which participate & spectate the many surf competitions held throughout the year. Its geographic conditions create a consistent surf.

Porthcawl Harbor is a traditional working harbor linked to the breakwater, old-fashioned lighthouse, watch tower and lifeboat station. During the summer months the famous paddle steamers Waverly & Balmoral sail from the harbor across the Bristol Channel into Devon, Ilfracombe, Lundy and Lynmouth. Sea anglers reel in a health catch from the harbor wall and deeper water fishing are accessible by fishing boats. There is also excellent fishing at lakes on the outskirts of Porthcawl and there is a Trout fishery at seven oaks near Ystradowen.

Golfers can take their pick from a great choice of courses in and around Porthcawl. The most famous Royal Porthcawl a challenging links course with breathtaking sea views, which is the venue for many prestigious championships. In the words of one leading correspondent "has a honored place among the worlds best golf courses". Other courses include the Grove golf course, South Cornelly Porthcawl, Pyle and Kenfig golf course, St.Marys - Pencoed, Southerdown golf course Nr. Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan golf course.
